Happy Christmas eve/Holidays to all of you! Found this in an area with items dating from the 1850's to present. It is made of lead. it is .50" wide, and approx .33" thick. It has some lettering on the inside, visible are S, SH (followed by another letter), and a T. My first thought was a piece of Lead stock (is there such a thing?) Thanks for looking, Jobrian

It looks like a smelting bar. Probably used to cash bullets. (Unless it is plumbers lead).

Back when people cast round lead balls for use as bullets, the lead was sold in bars. It looks like someone
coiled the bar up, perhaps for easier carrying. Not saying it's old, just tossing out options.
