I guess I had a pretty good year detecting considering it was way too hot and dry last summer. We broke a record for the most days in a row above 90F. I started off with a bang and found some nice goodies and pretty much used up my vacation at work by June. I didn't hunt much during the summer because the ground was so dry and I didn't want to ruin the grass and get ran off from my hunting spots. We are still about 15" below normal for rain this year. We are fortunate here in Tennessee because the ground doesn't freeze solid the whole winter. It does some but thaws pretty quick. I sure made a bunch of friends here and a few I don't always agree with but it wouldn't be as fun without them.

Here's my totals for 2007

1,951 coins for a total of $131.99, more or a little less.

198 quarters--------includes-----4 silver
545 dimes-------------------------9 silver
273 nickels------------------------1 silver, 5 buffaloes & 1 V nickel
929 pennies-----------------------80 wheat's & 3 Indian heads (oldest coin found 1873)
4 dollar coins------------------All clad
2 halves------------------------Both clad

I found 31 rings...including 7 silver & 1 gold ring.
I found 2 silver bracelets and a couple of gold earrings.
I found a silver military marksman badge.

Thanks for the encouragement and the pats on the back. You all have been a great friend to me this past year and I hope we all can find a bunch of goodies to post here in 2008.

Happy New Year

A lot of nice rings. A lot more than I found. I haven't counted my clad yet....snow is flying so maybe I'll have time now.

Holy cow! Is that a zinc? great shape too. nice finds, and may 08 hold many more treasures.

That sure does look like a steel cent but it's just the way the light reflected off it. Thanks for all of the replies and I hope you all find a ton of goodies this year.
