First year detecting 2011 keepers!

Here are all the keepers from my first year detecting. I only had a few coins that i kept and didnt put in my kids piggy banks. I only found 4 wheaties two i found on top of the ground at a old house we mow(1920,1945). A few tokens, and only one silver, my first, 1944 Merc. Some brass fasteners that went to a WW1 gas mask bag, a Confederate Heart blanket buckle cover, an old brass gag loop/bit, and an iron buckle. A few junk jewlery, one silver ring which was my 2nd hole i hade ever dug, so i was thinking this is easy. A 1953 Virginia Male dog tag and a 1984 blue Mardi Gras token, my first ever find. I only found two CW bullets, what looks like a Pickett or a MM7 Cosmopolitian, and a worn Spencer. Thanks for looking and hope to post some better finds for 2012.

Looks like your first year had a bit of everything. Wheaties, silver, jewelry, CW relics....way to go!!!

Your silver merc is in very good condition -- I was two years old when that coin was minted in 1944, wish I still looked as good as your merc, lol. The Confederate heart must have an interesting history behind it, a very special find. Like you, 2011 was my first detecting year. I'll get my best finds up as soon as I figure out how to post my pics! HH and have a great year detecting in 2012. Andi

Still jealous of that merc! Good finds for just a few months of detecting in 2011. I need to post my 2011 keepers too. Hope we find a whole bunch of silver and gold this year!
