1927 and 1930 :icon_thumright:. Yeah, it was a lot of work for 2 coins worth maybe 4 cents combined, but they were beauties when all you've ever dug consists of pull-tabs, nails, screw-tops, and the occasional clad quarter or dime.

Sounds pretty dumb, but once I saw the outline of a coin I grabbed it, held it a few seconds, then ran it under my coil to see if it still read copper before brushing them off and inspecting them. They (both) did. So far, that minute of not knowing has been the most fun.

Hopefully I'll find something cool soon and quit making noob posts about Wheaties. I just think it's pretty neat that given the age of these pennies, they were most likely already in the ground when I was born.

Next goal - silver! Or an older penny...

Congrats on those wheat pennies! I still remember the thrill of finding them. Heck...I still have days when I hope to find just a wheat penny! lol Keep going, that silver it's 'a coming!
