Hello dvdwin,

Did the red "China" mark throw you off, or what?

I think it's safe to say that the red "China" mark denotes the country of origin. This appears to have been remarked for export.

"General Information

Every article of foreign origin entering the United States must be legibly marked with the
English name of the country of origin unless an exception from marking is provided for in the
law..." 2004 Marking of Country of Origin on U.S. Imports

That is a celadon vase Korean. Not a old old one but worth between 15-30 dollars.
