Waiting for my water machine to be repaired and get back to me has been intolerable! Then it finally gets back to me and I go down to Venice all excited and the water was too rough for me to get in. My finds were not great.

BUT..... that all changed this morning.

My daughter and I went out early this morning, dropped off my grandson at school and we were on our way. She is new to MD'ing but hasn't been doing to bad for a newbie. She managed to find a toy car and 2 pennies. Oh yes, and I must not forget the pulltab and the bread tie! ::)

I got in the water right as soon as we got there. It was a little cold but felt good to FINALLY be getting back in. I got a hit right away. I hadn't even walked 2 feet! It was a big bottle cap! NUTS! Ok, at least I was getting signals and the machine was working. The next hit was a necklace with a broken clasp. It is colored beads and kind of pretty! THEN......... BINGO! IGG I Got Gold! Oh yes I did. I got my first gold of the year. It is a mans plain gold band with no inscription other than 10k ALLLLLL RIGHTTTTT. GOLD! I kept going and BAM! Another hit. This time it was a hoop earring. NOT gold, just a cheap one. It was one hit after another for a while. Clad, earrings etc. My daughter came over to where I was hunting and as she started to speak to me BAM! Another good hit. Another GOLD ring. This one is very small. I am betting a childs ring. It is also a plain gold band but this one has a spacer inside of it so the owner won't lose it. It obvisously did not work because the owner lost it. No inscription inside of it either and the spacer is over where it says what gold it is. I can make out the "k" but not the value. I've tried moving the spacer over but it won't budge. Well I dont care. I can tell it's gold and that's enough for me. I ended up with 2 gold rings, 3 hoop earrings (cheapo's) a bead necklace with a broken clasp and I must not forget the little plastic horse I just eyeballed in the water. I did well this morning and I feel great! I hope your morning is as good if not better. Here are the pictures.

Way to bring home the gold.

I got my feet wet again finally for a couple hours last week, earring, junk, braclet but nothing to write home about my brother on the other hand found another class ring and was able to return it to its owner. I need a serious dose of

IGG

Nothing to write home about? Shoot, I write about everything I find. If I didn't my posts would be few and far between! ::)

Hi Mumszie...A little late but a BIG CONGRATS! on the double ring GOLD finds!

Double Silver rings is the best I've done and it's taken me almost 2 years to get 13 gold rings (about 60 Silver too). Silver makes me content anyhow.

I remember seeing you waist deep(and more in photos you've made)...I'm wondering what your normal depth range is? And with these 2 rings?

I'm kinda chicken to get in more than ankle deep myself.

One ring was about waist deep the other was about ankle deep. The tide was out when I found them. I range in the water up to my shoulders but I'm the most comfortable around my waist.

Sometimes I could swear that the good stuff is at neck deep, other times it might be waist deep, and low and behold the next time everything is at the shore line. Oh, and let's don't forget the dry sand. One thinks that it will all be in the towel line, well sometimes yes and sometimes no. Hunting buddies and I have found gold even in areas one would think would be impossible, for example near the garbage cans.

I think it is hitting the right area, at the right time. When I go I will try one area and if no luck move on to the next. I don't know why but I've found several nice pieces when I was heading back to find out if someone else has found something. Lucky, I guess. ;D

Of course if all of the hunters are concentrating in one zone try another. But then again I have been behind other hunters and found objects that they missed and the same with me. Of course when I see someone in the same line behind me and he or she is digging something it makes me go crazy wondering if I missed a 3 carrot diamond ring :'(. But it's a hobby.....It's also that same feeling when you are in a casino and walk away from a machine and here comes someone who puts in $3 and wins "your jackpot" after you had just put in $100.
