thanks. but i explain about half from dry sand. i couldnt stand being

out there all day due to cold. and a couple times it was too rough.

the waves were higher a few times and forced me to come in,

after battering me a bit. i figured well, i need to learn to do it in rough

seas but it just was too much.

water finds were with the hh pirate which really is not made to hunt

salt. so i grabbed a used white surfmaster 2 and did quire a bit better

with it. tho the depth was not impressive. and it hunt the wet sand and waterline ok.

tesoro silver on the dry sand ok. had the etrac along and the conditions

drove it nuts. i couldnt find the manual to put it in beach mode

til the last day. im not sure why as i used it on the east coast bch

last year in regular mode worked fine. even in the surf. i know dont lecture

takin the expensive baby out there where one dunk could be

disaster. just had to try it. scubatreasure showed up with his excal

and now i see. WHOA . blows the doors off everything else.

would love to go back early march. theres an organized hunt at the treasure

coast about then. well see

Not sure on how high you had your discriminate set but it looks like there was plenty of stuff to be found. If I didn't see the couple of small earrings in the pile, I would say that you may be too high on the discriminate setting to find gold but I am not sure. Looks like if gold had been there, you most probably would have found it though.

You can only do what you can within your power to find gold. If it is not there, you can't make it happen. Looks like you were doing your part. Keep hunting that way and it will surely come.

Good luck.

YEAH I KNOW u have to use very little or no discrim to find gold.

probably the gold was out there but deeper than the machines

i was using can detect. i need an excal ! being cold the place prob had been hammered and no recent drops.

i saw VERY FEW people in the water and no other detectorists.except on land.
