Great Pond, Maine??

I'm headed to Rome,maine on the 9th.and staying at a cabin on Great Pond Lake. I don't know it they will allow metal detecting.
I'm curious to know has anyone detected this lake before and if there are any beaches there, just in case I'm not allowed to detect where I'm staying.

Any info appreciated.

Looks like a mix of public and private beaches and marinas. You should be able to find some neat stuff - looks huge!

That's pretty close to where i'm staying it's on Jamaica point road. I just hope the owners will allow me to detect, plus the other vacationers may not like me on there
strip of beach. Vacationers have been staying there since 1910 it should be interesting.

I am from Maine (living away now) and never had issues with detecting.
Not a huge hobby there.
