September's finds

I haven't posted here in a long time, but I have still been hunting 3 or 4 times a week. Recently I have been writing a few books, so that soaked up all of my energy for posting any thing here worth reading.

attached are my good finds found on 7 different beaches here on Okinawa. most of the good stuff came from my favorite two beaches:

septemberfinds.jpg

1- 18k yellow gold ring
1- 14k FG ring (white gold.....fool's gold?)
1- 18k gold and pt950 platinum duo ring (nice)
5- pt900 platinum rings
14- silver rings
5 silver chains

not shown is 41,500 yen in clad coins ($546) The Japanese $1 and $5 coins add up fast.

Also not shown is a bucket full of junk jewelry and steel / tungsten rings

I heard from my hunting buddy "Bobby Pins" that my posts inspired some Okinawa residents to start metal detecting. if you are on island and want to go for a hunt, contact me. "pins" and I are thinking about forming a club.

...and if you are interested in American history and/or fountain pens, check out my books on Amazon

The FG on the 14k ring is the makers initials. I've found those before.
