Hit the beach at negative tide today. So i got a better idea of how sanded in the beaches are and what ive been hunting over. Hardly anything on this beach but a couple of pull tabs and some small pieces of brass. Finally got to meet Les and his hunting partner Ken. I noticed Les coming toward me to say hello.... and bang i get a good sound. Hes a walking and im a digging. I look in the scoop and see a nice yellow color i raised it up to show it off then tucked it away quickly since the waves was kind of pushing you around if you werent paying attention. Once we got on shore Les pulled the loop out and sure nuff.... 18K. About a size 10 nice and heavy piece. Looks like i need to stay about Les as a good luck charm. 5 min. more and it would have been his trophy im sure.

Great meeting you and Ken as well. I really like meeting some of the experienced hunters on here .... ive got a lot to learn and there is a LOT of competition on these beaches. Seems i always come away with a little information.... or rig set up envy. I can already tell its time for a different shaft and scoop. Nice pair of head phones Les.... ill have to put a pair of those on my want list as well. Nice chatting with Ken too... ill forgive him for being a Navy guy lol.

OBN.... I was just plum lucky to walk over the only thing worth a hoot today.

WTG Dew :icon_thumleft: I was hunting toward a buddy of mine on Daytona Beach in the wet sand and he stopped to check a target. As I approached him about 10 feet from him I got a really nice tone and popped out a 13 gram wedding ring with a half carat diamond in it. He surly would have found it if he didn't stop to dig that penny :laughing7: Anyone else cut someone off accidently and find something nice?? :icon_pirat:

Nice find, especially around those two guys. When I hunt the same beach as them, they already found the goodies.

At least they're nice enough to show me. :laughing9:
