Beach & Shallow Water Hunting
Overcast / showery conditions emptied one of my favourite water hunts today. It is a river beach and sees lots of traffic / tourists. All finds were from knee to chest deep. The water was clear for an hour or so then visibility dropped on the bottom of the run out tide, so I was getting heaps of "blind" practice with the scoop and that Cane handle is still going strong. I have cherry picked alot of the top layer of big blasty / strong signals over my 5 or so hunts there, so I knew I would have to be listening for weak ones and digging down - was retrieving targets on 2nd and 3rd scoop (average) - the strategy paid off today with what is quite a nice haul for me, the old can pulls and green coins give me encouragement that there is way more there .....+ these weak signals are literally everywhere:
Pics of todays booty:
-the trash
- pointy body piercing thingy + two junk rings
- my first cross - no hallmark - looks a bit cheap to me :dontknow:
- the coins - $12-80 (our gold $1 and $2 coins go really black in the saltwater and are tough to clean)
- the hallmarked silver, "925 ITALY" earing, hangy 925 hippee earing thingy, solid band, and small ladies with ice or CZ stone- will test one day
- the gold - breaking a drought since January 31st - a nice 8mm 9ct band - happy here as it is good and weighty and also got her deep - she has obviously been soaking awhile.
- finally a silver from last Tuesday at the same beach (hunt when it finally clicked that I could rescue deeper stuff)
So HH hunting to you all.

Nice scooping.... The cross may look cheap because the detail is worn off. However, gold is soft and worn off easily. I would not discount it without testing first. HH. Ralph

thanks mate - it truly was the ability to go deeper in the water - on sand as y' all (I just love that USA saying - it sounds like "yaul" - I think it is from the South?) know you can dig to China. I'll check the cross - I need a decent set of scales, diamond tester and acid kit - fun to need these :icon_thumleft:

Thanks to all replies - yaul keep safe and horrowshow hunting to you!
Ps - Has anyone heard from Lorrain?
