North Carolina beaches!!
Anybody do any metal detecting along the N.C coast by any chance? I'm thinking about starting here soon, and see how my luck goes! But what are some key places to look on a beach??
Thanks,

I've been out about 5 times in the last 10 days. You can help me gather tabs, cans, caps & tent stakes. I haven't found a dollar in clad yet. As far as where... Do you really expect someone to tell you where they find valuables?

Generally speaking, on coastal sandy beaches look for those places where it appears the sand has been disturbed or removed by wave action. Heavy items such as gold, silver, platinum sink rather quickly until they meet a firmer bottom. When sand is removed it often allows you to access these deeper, firmer bottoms where the goodies settle. Often this doesn't have to result in a lot of sand being removed, sometimes it only takes a few inches to make all the difference in the world. There are some very good beach hunting books out there that you might want to review as answering your question isn't really so simple or short on explanation.
"The key to finding gold is finding places where it can be accessed."
