black rock i found at a beach in south australia

hey guys found this rock at a beach in south australia its 30cm wide and weights 4.2kg it may be coal am not to sure
just wondering if anyone could shed light rock.jpg

it wouldnt lite even a grain of it wouldnt ember or glow

You might want to take it to a local geologist or rock shop and see what they think.

and i dont think it is basalt it doesnt look like any of the pictures i can see on the inernet

Aren't meteors supposed to be attracted to magnets?

Yes, most meteors are iron so they are magnetic. Need more info - is it metal or rock? If metal - is it magnetic or not? Etc. is it light or heavy?
