I kept reading bigscoops updates and I said, thats it, Im hitting the beach. Hunted five hours around the low tide. No cuts and not even much erosion, just high and low spots down the beach. Any place shells were gathered you could find coins. Spent a lot of time hunting the waters edge but figured out the targets were along the high water mark. All three rings came from the high water line. Coins were green and red and everything I dug looked like they had been there a while. I was thrilled to get my first class ring. A 10k girls ring that weighs 7.7 grams. Its a little chunk and wont even fit on my pinkie.It came out of the sand black, like a silver ring, and I didnt think it was gold. It has her name inside so I should be able to make the return. Both toe rings were marked .925...1.6 grams and 2.6 grams. No pulltabs and the least amount of trash Ive ever dug. Three other hunters were working the beach and said they found coins and junk jewelery, but who knows. I thought I had found my last gold of the year but Im back in the game. Hit those beaches and good luck to everyone.

I think it's only going to get better as more access is gained in and around the lower beach, say close to the usual low tide waterline and just beyond. How close could you get to it the other day? Nice ring!

Congrats!:hello2::hello2::hello2:

That 10K has had a rough time but I'm sure her owner will be so very happy.

A little quick story on my class ring experience. Found this chunky man's ring about 2 years ago. From the initials I finally got a name. Ironically enough he was a private eye in California but for the life of me I couldn't locate him anywhere in the U.S. After a six month rest and a second wind I started again and found his wife's maiden name. Didn't find her but did get her relatives. They graciously passed on my phone number to her and one evening she calls me. Her husband is now her ex and he was a civilian worker in Iraq and she would pass on the info to him.

Another six months and no word. I resent another email to the ex-wife's relatives and she did call me rather quickly. She knews he was back in California but didn't know where. She was friends with her mother-in-law and so I asked her to pass on my info to her. So..here it is another six months later and nothing.

I'm not complaining (much)...it was a great learning experience...but if I hear nothing by my next gold sale that ring gets melted.

Sweet finds...... Its out there but its still work getting it. Until we can get in the water i dont believe we will know what its done here. Its sure not doing anything but building a bit of a sand bar on the beach right now. I did notice the seaweed was starting to come in ..... man i hope that dont happen again its a pain to work around and even gives you false signals in the wet sand.
