November-December 2012 at the river

This is a collection of jewelry and coins I found. I found 5-6 10K rings and 3-5 sterling silver rings and some more sterling silver chains. I found 1-1925 mercury dime at the site of an old hotel they were tearing down and 1-1944 mercury dime at the river, a 1942-S quarter and a standing liberty quarter without a readable date. Quite a bit of clad and some shell casings and sinkers. The river was down and someone else had dug a lot of holes and left them. I covered them up with a rake, but the caretaker said it wasn't necessary. I missed out about 2 weeks due to the flu and was using my GTI-2500 and couldn't get far out into the water. I bought a limbsaver sling to help me keep it dry, but it did get dunked one time by the wake of a boat. I use a Sunspot scoop I got and it works great. They let the water back up and now I'm using the AT/Pro.

I'll try and post some more photos tomorrow. I've got to go check on my elderly mama and I hope to hit a new spot Saturday.

Two of the 10K rings I found had a stone missing and I thought at the time due to being tired they might be costume jewelry and didn't look for the stones and lost a good opportunity to find them. You live and learn. I didn't get to go to my spot today and had to stay close to home. I went to my local church but didn't find anything except trash and a small piece of brass.
