Freshwater hunt...GOLD..UPDATE ON RETURN

Went to a small freshwater beach Monday and the water was warmer than I expected. First target in knee deep water was a rebel flag belly button ring and I said to myself maybe no one has hunted here lately. I was wrong, there were holes in the water everywhere, some of them knee deep. About 15 minutes into my hunt I got a loud mid tone signal in chest deep water. It sounded so good that I didn't look in my scoop, I just shook it and hoped I heard the clunk of a ring...I heard a BIG clunk. I quickly looked in and saw a silver ring. I said to myself "wait, I was digging a mid tone". I swiped it under my coil and it was a solid mid tone. I looked inside and saw the 10k mark...white gold, 7.6 grams. Its a girls 2009 class ring with enough info on it that I should be able to find the owner. Bigmike can track down the owners of lost rings amazingly fast and Im going to put him on the job. Good luck to everyone.

The HJ inside the ring stands for Herff Jones. They sell the class rings and I believe they keep their records for 6 years. They have helped me find several people who lost their rings. Good luck.

WTG on the great finds and the ring return. Good pr for our hobby. When I'm in the water, I do the Fongu shuffle and cover my holes before I start looking for my next target. If you make it a habit, you don't even think about it. I'd hate to step in some of those holes from a PI detector, they go pretty deep.
