You say you like to hunt rocky areas?....here's a couple of pics of today's detecting

site.

I love detecting amid rocks, and most times I can find coins, but today was a day for two unusual looking sinkers at the site ( I think they are sinkers..they are very heavy, but there is no metal loop attached , nor any hole in these items which were found about one foot apart.

Found just clads along with the sinkers, but had fun out there with those rocks.

Here's some pics of Ct. shoreline...hope you will enjoy them

Thanks for looking

Lorraine

Looks like a killer hunting ground. Maybe that lead is from an old casting net. Dont know. Thanks for the pics.

Hard to tell what they are without knowing their size and weight.
From the shape, they look like the could be shaped projectiles fired from an old cannon, possibly civil war era.

Those grounds look good.
Maybe a pick axe to move the rocks.
Who am I to talk with a bad back and right shoulder.
Have fun and good luck.

I like your preference in hunting grounds . I like hunting in the rocks myself and made some of my best finds in them.

As for the lead, I agree with the above post....they do appear to be some sort of projectile. I know one of your favorite spots does produce many types of projectiles and I have found many different types there, but not like the ones posted.

Thanks for the nice pics.

So you like the ROCKS - how about helping me on this beach!

The sand is gone, the rocks are here, but I need a bigger scoop!

BOWLING BALL BEACH - just south of Point Arena, CA.

If the rocks are this big, just think how big the gold pieces must be.

Yep, as many times as I was at your pictured beach, I could not cover it all either. I hope I left you some great finds...

Yes, I should have taken a pic to show its size :icon_scratch: ...that would help with the ID

Here is a pic of the item; it is flat-bottomed.

The beaches here are waiting for you, Hamid; but I think that boat will get you only as far as the other side of that palm tree:laughing7:; me thinks you'd get here faster by swimming:headbang:

I have never hunted a beach but one day I will. :O) Seems like most of the best jewelery finds are at beaches. Love the kitty pic, I have four and a dog.

That is one beautiful gray cat!! Leads are odd, kind of common weight for ocean fishing but odd that there isn't any means of attaching to a line. I don't know of any bullets made of lead that big either, most are steel with copper bands when they get that big.

Now you're talking ,Hamid! :headbang:

Yup, that'll get you here, but I'm not so sure that it's big enough to hold all those beautiful treasures that you've been finding:cat:
