Cleaning Coins

Hello, what do you guys recommend to clean recovered coins? The coins are so dark in color I can't really make anything out.

There are many methods people have used, since it is round and probably a penny, I would wait till you have more and use a tumbler (if your so inclined). However if it is something of value the previous advise should be ignored.

Unless you have really small hands that's larger than a penny and could be a very old copper coin.
I would suggest electrolysis

Maybe it's just the photo that made it look larger I'm almost positive its a wheat penny.. Pretty sure I see the words one cent
