First hunt was at bottle cap beach as I call it. Hit the silver cross with ice (real) in the high surf line almost first thing before the sun came up. The Edforce cross was a dry sand find heading to the cooler for a drink of water. Been finding a bunch of Edforce steel jewelry the past couple hunts. After about 5 hours of hunting, the life guard came over and told me a "Hawaiian" guy lost his wedding band in the surf and pointed me to the general area. Asked if he had the guys information and he said, finders keepers on this one. So I am thinking gold!!! Well 30 minuted into my grid I hit the handmade copper ring. Pretty cool but a bit of a let down.
Today I hit another local beach and was very excited to see about 18in of sand stripped out. The past few wet hunts have produced very little in the way of targets so I was pretty excited. Right away I started hitting quarters that had been soaking for a bit. Knew this was a good sign and sure enough, as the tide chased me to dry sand, I landed the 14k bank at 8.93 grams. As I worked up towards the cut, I popped the 925 ring and the 1948 silver quarter. The date is barely visible and it makes me wonder how long it has been in the sands.
