Found 20 feet from shore near the pier in Santa Monica during a rip current that had removed about 2 feet of sand and it was still 2 feet underground. I see an identical one but larger size being used on the show survivor right now to carry water but I figured this was a fondue pot. Nonferrous heavy metal about 8" in size. Any ideas?

Looks like a Dutch oven to me. Pewter? Aluminum? If you find the lid I will be even more impressed. Nice find.

If it's as old as it looks , it might have been used to melt lead for bullets. 8 " is rather small to cook in. Great find !

I was hoping for a different kind of pot. Regardless if it was more valuable, it sure would of eased your aches from throwing a scoop around all day.

That's a very interesting find, Johnny:thumbsup:

I'd love to find something like that; maybe you'll find the lid another time
