Hi:hello:,

I've been soooooooo busy taking care of Hank after his carpal tunnel release surgery last week, so haven't had much computer nor beach time....until today

I'll be checking out all your treasure finds a little at a time; love to see the beauties that you all find.:hello2:

Hank is doing very well:headbang:, and I didn't do too badly at the beach today , either.

Got to the beach 2 hours pre-low tide and did some dry sand ,then followed the wet slope down to shoreline. Hunted 1 1/2 hours in cloudy, but mild weather.

This ring gave the lowest sound that I have heard from gold in a long time; usually the tone I hear is mid-low, but this one was unmistakable ....and so focused in that wet sand about 8" deep.

Here's some pics
Thanks for looking

Lorraine

Congrats on the gold and I'm glad Hank is doing well. I think that you are correct on the stone.

Thanx for sharing Lorraine.
What a beaut - any guess as to how old it is.
The gemstone definitely rubellite, I like its cut and deep color.

Sure beats, junk rings found made with fordalite I suspect the most popular (cut and polished glass from broken auto tail light).

Thank you , slider66. I think the stone is "rubellite" ( tourmaline)....it resembles this stone from my Gemstone reference book.

You can try, but you cannot beat a Sovereign when it comes to identifying targets by tone!

Congrats on a well deserved find!

Wow you find some really nice stuff. You been on here for ever, have you ever posted pictures of your whole collection all together in one pic. Maybe there could be a thread so everyone could do it.

Thank you, Vikingblood.

Been detecting since around 2005.

I'm not even 1/4 accomplished in metal detecting as are the talented gentlemen on this forum , but I keep trying...love the hobby.

My collection is fragmented, because I've melted down many of my gold and silver finds , but I did take these pic a few years ago:

My most memorable, precious find of all to date is the WW1 ring that I have posted a few times.
