I am in Orlando and travel to Coaco Beach in the morning to detect with my new Sand Shark. Still trying to get used to the machine. I ran into a few fellow detectors and all had different machines and raved about them. My question is that if someone gave you $2500 to buy a detector that is primarily great in salt water what would you buy? Like the Shark but may want to move up.

Always be satisfied with what you have. Have confidence in it. It will find you treasure when others won't...

I would buy the CTX3030 and kick in extra $700 and get an Excal to go with it.... 3030 is fantastic land machine that works great in the water for all wading purposes and the excal is a proven champion..

So far it is Excal in the lead with the CTX a close second and the E-trac and CZ21 in the rear.

CZ21 - As good as anything in the salt in my opinion and they are built like a tank. Mine is over 20 years old. It's only been in the shop a few times and the last time I converted it to a 21 and it's still running as strong as the day it was bought.

I don't have a CTX yet but you can't go wrong with an Excel or CZ-20/21 either.

Couple of used Xcals blues, then have Kelleyco modify um. There is just nothing worse than having a machine go down when things start heating up. BUT..... if you do dirt and dry sand hunting....... TH has the right idea.
