    3 ring beach hunt

Hunted 6 hours today and found 1 925 ring a 925 toe ring and 1 ring marked 18 kt. The 18 rang up high on the nox 25/26 did the acid test and the 10 k acid ate it right up. I wish it was real, it weighed 12.57 grams. Going back to the coast for the next 3 days, maybe Iíll find some real gold.

Looks like solid gold to me. You sure itís not 18k. If thatís how it came out of salt water, good chance itís the real deal.

I ran it through my tumbler, it didn’t look quite as shiny but it had no corrosion either. I really thought it was real till I did the acid test. A friend owns a pawn shop I might take it over there and let him test it.

Did it turn green when you did an acid test? All imitation gold contains copper and will turn green with an acid test.

No I didnít turn green. It just melted away on the stone. I didnít put any acid directly on the ring though

Iím betting itís real 18k. From the pics it doesnít look like imitation. Another good indicator is the weight and it looks right. Try the magnet test too.
