Hit Coronado beach this week and found my first diamond ring! The eight small diamonds tested good (thanks Fumunda) and the solitaire was an obvious fake the minute I saw it. It appears as if this stone was added to the ring later. There is some green junk at the base of the solitaire setting, which I suspect is from whatever solder job was done to add the stone. Haven't weighed her yet, but she's heavy, and the only marking I see appears to read "BDE". Found the white gold 14k band about an hour later. Also a St. Anthony medal. I'm going to collect ALL the saints! Thanks for looking and Happy Holidays.
