Below are my finds at Balneario Camboriu, Santa Catarina, Brazil beach. This is my first beach attempt and I think demonstrates the rapid increase in the treasure to trash ratio on each trip. The photos are (hopefully) uploaded in sequence so that each is presented correctly. Being a newby I was very happy with my outings. I did FIND lots of black sand early on until I learned more about my detector. I also dug up a few beer cans in the black sand that registered as silver. Those and a few pull tabs went into the recycle bins at the beach.

I am looking forward to hunting Ipanema and Copacobana in the coming months. There is a story here in Rio about a man that makes his living (and feeds a family) on what he literally "fishes" from the beach at Copacabana using a fishing net in the surf. He has been interviewed by newspapers and TV. I guess we'll see how successful I am at sand fishing the umbrella line. :-)

Nice finds.....that piece of angled metal is a tent like stake. I have found a few of those recently. Used to hold down tent corners and canopy lines.

Know what I mean?

Cool stuff!
