I already have the excal for the water and had a DFX for the dry and wet sand. The DFX went south so I took a chance and got the new E-Trac. I haven't been out yet, but so far I like what I see. It aint a Whites but I liked the idea of downloading my modes and discrimination patterns onto my PC. I now have a backup of my settings.
The depth is really good and the sweep speed is just unbelievable. There are so many ways you can set this thing. Its not as heavy as I thought it would be, has a battery indicator that the excal really needs.
It has two different pinpoint modes, one called normal and the other sizing. I have been used to using the sizing mode so I don't dig all those cans. The only Minelab I have owned is the Excalibur 1000.
I also like the coil wire in the shaft, and the quick adjust levers on the shaft.
So I will take this thing out to the beach tomorrow and give you the whole story.

So, after 4 years, how has it performed on the beach? Still waiting for the whole story. :)
