Congratulations, Mike. You deserve it, after all the hours you spend detecting. It's really nice! :)

Love it! That must of been a heart stopper when it popped up! Foil is a good reading here too with the bronze as you must know...Maybe my bronze will be gold someday too! Hope you find more!

Do what you gotta do. If you have to sell it, at least you got the picture, and more importantly, the RUSH of finding an awesome gold coin! :o

Thanks for the awesome comments! I've picked up the coin and looked at it 200 times or more, LOL! Only had about 1 hour today to get back on the field due to wifey's long honey do list, we just completed renovating a hallway and a room at the house. Found a few musket balls, 3 crusty coins and a nice 1817 silver coin. Had planned a hunt with Sand today but had to back out at the last minute, just too many things to get done. HH, Mike

Wow Mike, what's it like being a member of the "Gold Club for Life" ?????
I hope to find out some day as well!!

Any news on whether the authorities will permit you to keep it or not? And by the way - thanks for being totally transparent and above board with your find. It sets an excellent example for all of us.

HH,
Bob
