Hey diggin, I was at the back of an older home, circa 1860, and they finally harvested the bean field. My buddy and I started hunting the field and 10 rows in and I got a penny signal. I found the large metal band that was most likely wrapped around the pottery that I found in the hole with the intact bottle. Appears to be an isolated find and not from a privy or outhouse cause it's just too far from the house. Strange for sure, but one of my favorite finds so far...and I just saw it made the Banner.. Thanks for the reply.....jgas

This mark with the cipher ELP Co. and the words WACO China found on dinnerware made from 1896 to 1901. The company first made plain and decorated ironstone China. In 1896, it switched to making semivitreous dinnerware. A line of this china was named Waco. This pottery, the East Liverpool Pottery Company, was started by John W. and Robert Hall in East Liverpool, Ohio, in 1894. It merged with five other small potteries in 1901 to form the East Liverpool Potteries Company. The Halls left the group in 1903 and started the more famous Hall China Company.

Wow even older than the bottle. Cool stuff. I think I need to go back there and look for the privy. What do you think? Worth it? Just not sure how to do it, or how to use a probe. But I shall learn if I want to find more. jgas
