Help with mason jar

Looking for suggestions on how to get this crusty rusted remnants of a lid off this nice old mason jar. It's rusted tight, though about soaking in oil, but not sure. What do you suggest?

Vinegar or muriatic acid should take care of that easy, just soak it over the weekend....Jim

great, thanks not sure why I didn't think of that. :icon_scratch: I use vinegar all the time on rusty stuff
