Japanese I can read....Chinese?...not so much..... I picked this up on the beach last week, it has a lot of surf tossed wear but no lid. I always wonder how these things make it across the ocean with no top but it is fairly common to find them like this. Now I know this jar doesn't have much age but it sure would be nice to know what it is. What I do know is that it is some kind of Chinese company food jar...any ideas?

To solve this 2 year old mystery. What you found is an empty bottle of lao gan ma sauce. 老干妈 (Your 3rd photo shows 老干妈食品 lao gan ma shi pin.. shi pin means food product). It's a tasty spicy sauce. I've had it before. Maybe one day you will get a chance to try it. I've attached a photo of the sauce. :occasion14:
