Need Help With ID of This Bottle

This bottle is clear glass with many imperfections. There is a large embossed "6" with an underline on the bottom, center. There is a smaller embossed number "8" to the left of the "6". It is about 8" tall X 4" wide and 1 3/4" thick. Any help with an ID and/or possible value will be appreciated.

It's an early 20th Century machine made whiskey. Leave it outside and see if it turns amethyst. No monetary value particularly, just yet.

Thanks for the heads-up. I will leave it outside, as suggested, and see if it does turn color to amethyst.
