"Yellow Jacket" pit is finished

Went back to the yellow jacket pit to finish it. Find's weren't anything to brag about but got a nice aqua carter's cone ink and some smallies. Front and center is a ceramic arm holding a basket of 3 fish. Middle row is a Dr. Tichenor's Antiseptic Sherrouse Medicine Co. New Orleans. Next is a child's play broken teapot. Next to it is a tiny unembossed 8 panelled bottle. Then an 16 panelled Cranitonic Hair Food. Far right is an amethist colored bottle that says T & Co. NY. Back row a small snuff perhaps and a larger square snuff. A friend at work collects those so he'll be happy with 2 more, lol. Middle is an aqua Carter's ink with some really neat imperfections in the glass. No cracks or chips. Thanks for looking
















The imperfections in the glass gives it a "swirled" look.

Man, that Carter's cone is one crude crumpet. Does it have a birdswing?

I like that Cranitonic Hair Food sample a lot.

This was one of the products of Alonzo Frank Richardson, of New York City. He registered "Cranitonic Hair Food" and the associated symbols (see below) as a trade marks in 1899 (TM #32,523). He said he had been selling the brand since 1897. An ad said that the company was incorporated May 6, 1899.

Richardson was the President of the Cranitonic Hair Food Co., which advertised this product during the 1890s. From 1900 until at least 1915, they were listed at 526 W. Broadway, in New York City. According to Devner, the Cranitonic was being marketed by the Kells Co., of Newburgh N.Y. by 1921. On the Hair treatment agreement below the people available for consultation are the Medical Board of the Cranitonic Scalp & Hair Institute." HAIR RAISING STORIES

Nice link on the tonic. Not sure what you mean by birdswing. I know you cant see it from the picture but i'm convinced it has a number on it, 1897.

I agree, it's an 1897, with what must have been a very fouled mould. Carter's filed several trade marks in 1897: The American Stationer - Google Books
