Here's a pair of PHOENIX BOTTLING WORKS / BUFFALO, N.Y. blob-tops.

The example on the left is a standard corker. The example on the right has a Baltimore loop seal closure. I don't have room on my shelf for interesting blob-tops like these, so they languish in storage.

That cornflower Hutch smokes, Charlie!

Here's my only decent blob top, embossed "C.A. ELLS & SON / MACON, GA. - MINERAL WATER / UNION GLASSWORKS / PHILA"

Also pictured is an envelope from C.A. Ells mailed to an attorney in Albany, and apparently sent back (possibly refused?). Note the embossed flap and the way "cigars" is spelled. Also shown is a page out of an 1869 Macon city directory for H.N. Ells, who I guess is the "Son" on the bottle, apparently carrying on his father's business. The bottle predates the ad by probably 15 years.

It was shown off at a bottle club meeting when I was about 15 years old. Only took me 25 years to put it on my shelf!

Alright here are some of mine, four dug blobs, two of them Stamford, one a Honesdale Mineral Water, and the other an NYC T&W. Then the hutch is a swirly based one I bought, really good condition. The tall blob is one I dug, a weird ABM picnic beer from Gray Bros New Canaan. The two hutches are also Gray Bros, one on the left is an older, listed variant, the other is a slightly newer mold I think that is unlisted on Hutchbook, it has the addition of NET WEIGHT 7 OZS, both bought. Then here is a tall Baltimore loop blob I bought, from Stamford.
