found bottle dump in woods wonder where the house might have been located

I found a bottle dump with beer, whiskey bottles and an embossed asprin bottle. Seems to be from the 1950's. This is an area where I know from old maps a few homes where there in the 1920's. How far and in which direction would the old house be located? There is no indication of any foundation near by. I will have to go back and look at the ages of the trees to find some hints. I wish to metal detect that area that I think is the old house location.

the houses most likely were close to the rode . or if there is just a path they cud be along there.

I would assume it was somewhere between the bottle dump you found and the road!

You are probably digging in an old privy location. I agree the house would have been closer to the road.

35 - 50 yards from the bottle dump, look out for covered over wells.
