Thanks for all the help identifying my find. I guess I need to keep digging all the chirpy deep nail signals in case there are more bottles down there :laughing7:

I would vote twice if I could. Finding a bottle like this would make my day and I would probably pick it up and look at it everyday!

Wow, nice find! What you need to do is go back to the spot that bottle was rescued and dig a real hole! The ferrous signal(s) may well indicate a trash pit or privy, so there could be plenty more good old bottles waiting for you a bit deeper. Congrats!

Me and my hunting buddy's have talked about going back to the spot and doing some bottle digging. It did seem like there was some ash in the hole with the bottle when I recovered it.

I showed the bottle to a friend of mine and he liked it so much he is going to refer me to a friend of his who appraises bottles. Can't wait to see what he has to say about it!

To me, as an old bottle digger, I think that it is worthy of a banner find. Pretty rare bottle.

Your going to get it appraised. Will you be selling it or keeping it? I would keep it!

Saw on one website a bottle similar to this one sold for around $450.00 (not as old as this one and without iron pontil scar) then saw on another site this bottle is valued in between 1200-1400 bucks in mint condition. Not sure why this bottle hasn't made banner yet. Maybe not enough votes?
