I just recovered some nice, semi-old bottles from my mid 20th century site. One is a nice Dairylea milk bottle with all of the red paint on it and the other is yet another unidentified bottle that has most of its label (which consists of fine writing). What is the best way to remove the dirt from both bottles (both inside and out) without damaging or removing the labels?

keep the label dry for at least a week then just rinse it off . If there rust stains just live them.
