Trinitite Atomic Glass 1945

Probably not known by many but this glass has an incredible history behind it...the World changed forever the moment this glass was made.
It all began July 16th, 1945...The Manhattan Project.
Here are a few of my pieces in my collection, please feel free to share in posting some of your own.
I have just began to photograph some of mine...many have never seen this glass or know of its origin

17:54 of video actually shows the sea of green glass under the test area.
Some very rare pieces and hopefully these photos will show the beauty of this special glass.
Thanks and I hope you enjoy.

My grandfather worked that site prior to detonation, after the blast he collected several boxes of specimens. I used to look at them as a kid. Over the years they just went away, think I'll go look around the shop and barn and see if I can find them.

Better hold on to it. According to Wikipedia most of the stuff at the site was bulldozed under and it is prohibited now for anyone to go digging for it.

Apparently it has not stopped anyone from taking the signs LOL

Bob,
I hope you actually find it, you never know what you might find but it would be worth taking a look?
Please keep us posted?
Thanks,
