Smallest Bottle

I saw a post a while ago about the smallest bottle. Here is my smallest. The embossing has a reverse P and a regular P. Anyone ever see one of these?

I have a few of them and the next size up clear , blue and flat bottom . been after these for years they are one of my favorite bottles . did you find that one ?

Yes, I dug this one in Saratoga Springs, NY. Do you know what it is?

I just viewed hundreds of bromo bottles and nothing like this one. They could have embossed Bromo Seltzer on this bottle if it was theirs.

johnson's digestive pills brunswick nj.. blue round bottom the next larger size is the only pic i see......

B.P.CO. is Brunswick Pharmacal Co.----1895-1930----New Brunswick N.J.

The Brunswick Pharmacal Co. was eventually taken over by Johnson and Johnson. They used these little cobalt pill bottles that came in several variations. At least 3 different sizes of the round bottom bottle, at least three different sizes of flat bottom bottles. Some have the B.P. Co embossing and some do not. Just about all of the cobalt examples are very easy to find as the company was highly successful. There have been cases in the past where buckets full of them have been dug. A very popular item among local collectors, and often confused as poison bottles to the untrained bottle enthusiast.

These little pill bottles contained papoid tablets, supposedly made from the milk of the papaw plant (papaya), and were taken for indigestion. Later bottles were labeled Johnson's digestive tablets. A full write up on the Brunswick Pharmacal Co.'s The Story Of The Papaw discusses the use and components of their papoid tablets.

No gold That is something I never found .Very nice because it has a different shape from most everything else Here are a few of the smallest I ever dug .The one on the right is a small Bromo Seltzer from Baltimore MD
