No earlier than 1890 and no later than 1915. I'd say somewhere in the middle, 1900-1910. 'Not sure about how rare it is or anything, but I imagine it would appeal to a Tennessee and/or Chattanooga collector!

I found a lot of listings for this bottle. Pintrest had one for sale but am not a member. Seems they made several cures. It is listed in medicinal vessels of the first gilded age 1870-1929. I dig bottles in Chattanooga and have not seen this one.

Hi Gold boy. Thanks for the PM. NJ is correct on the age assessment. Late 1890s I’d say. Tooled lip. Listed as 1518 in The Knapp book but yes listed as Amber. No listings for the clear one. In most cases the ones of color would get more of a premium. This one lists tho for just $3-$5. Sometimes tho the clear ones rule! So I’d guess a bit higher maybe. Especially to a local collector. Hope that helps. Jgas.

What a horrible prospect . . . cholera or dysentery with nothing but these concoctions for relief! These med's must have had a potent opiate component -- palliative treatment.

Nice pontils there, Harry! Here's another rarity from the South for the same ailment albeit misspelled. This one was supposedly pulled from under a house in Lawrenceville, Ga. back in the 60s along with an unheard of colored pontiled mugbase soda from Alabama, the whereabouts of which remain unknown to this day.
