Got a nice black glass bottle this morning....was out searching the briny depths with islamoradamark today. While digging underwater this beauty popped out of the hole. Most are modern and most are broken so this was a beautiful surprise !! Happy hunting folks !!

IT glissions like amber in the light what a great find. That was the start to an enjoyable day on the water.

Im not to sure dave....i was more inclined to put it at 1870s- early 1900s. But maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in with a date. I was just happy to pull it out of the ocean in one piece !!

I think you're about right on the time period. Here's one (red arrow) that I found in the creek many years ago with the same cool crooked neck as yours. I was probably still a teenager then, and it was such a thrill to pull it out of the water, so I know how you felt when you found it. All of these came out of the same creek through the years, except for the two with the yellow dots, which came out of the wide overhang boxing of an old warehouse.

Always glad to help whenever I can. Sally just dumped a load of rain on us earlier this week and even busted a pond dam a few miles upstream, so I can't wait until it drops and clears so that get in there and see anything turns up.

Thanks for your followup Bart.

The bottles sandchip found are in beautiful shape, there's obviously no seasonal freeze thaw cycle in Georgia. :laughing7:
The frost and snow break most exposed bottles here in the north.
