Vaseline Glass

This stuff is pretty cool. It has uranium in it and glows under UV light. I tried to get a picture under regular and then black light but the top shelf still was to bright.

I found out about Vaseline glass back when we first started collecting rocks and minerals at Franklin NJ. Someone mentioned there was a specical glass that glowed under UV light, just like the minerals do in the rocks at the Franklin mine dump piles.

Vaseline glass comes in a variety of colors. Also, there are many glass objects you would not expect that were made from vaseline glass. Having a mini-UV light allows me to check anything that I suspect MIGHT be vaseline glass before I buy. (The seller is not always aware nor would you necessarily want to make them aware if they aren't)
