My F75 Bounty Hunter gets 7 inches at a low sensitivity of 35. I can pick up large object at about 2 feet. Deepest coin found was aver 16 inches. I usually run a 3 tone, high gain, and coil for the area hunted.

Thanks greaser. Not bad at 7 sensitivity. What mode were you in for these tests?

Nevermind. I see the first post said 4 tone (disc 4). Did you see how much deeper AM was?

No problem Phan, yeah I think the depths were respectable. No I haven't tried anymore modes yet. I will try and do some more tomorrow. I would also like to crank the sensitivity up and see what effect it has in all the modes. This thread may become quite lengthy. Lol

It's the reason your "Fisher" costs 4 times as much as the LRP. Personally, I don't care to carry a garden shovel with me.

Yeah, when I did my test, I live out in the country, so I could crank mine up to 10. It gave me about 2" more than your results at 7. I remember in AM my quarter was picked up at close to 10" (what the manual says is the limit. I tried a can of beans and it picked up at like 20".lol.

Ok so I did some coins in all metal and here are the results these were achieved on 7 sensitivity to maintain consistency.

Clad first
50C = 10
VDI = 89o

25C = 10
VDI = 79o

10C = 8
VDI = 67o

5C = 9
VDI = 35o (jumpy)

Zink = 8 1/2
VDI = 54o (jumpy)

Copper 1C = 8
VDI = 67o

Wheaty = 8
VDI = 67o

Silver
1$ = 9 1/2
VDI = 96-97o

50C = 9 1/2
VDI = 90o

25C = 8 1/2
VDI = 85o

Rosie = 8
VDI = 73o

Marc = 8
VDI = 71o

Ok now gold
Large 14k Men's ring = 11 1/2
VDI = 41

Men's 14k white gold wedding band = 9 1/2
VDI = 26-29 (jumpy)

Yep. Though it is made cost effectively (a cheaper build quality) it is quite the powerful unit. It was not designed for the 'professional" detectorist in regards to replace or compete with high end units. It is the higher end Bounty Hunter line that gives superior results to hobby hunters that don't need (or want) to pay professional prices. Having the 13 bit process and pro options in a cost effective package moves the Bounty Hunter name out of the old and into the new, shared by Teknetics and a few Fishers.

My thoughts exactly. I am sure in a few years I will want an upgrade but the LRP will probably stick around as a back up.

F75 is a Fisher not a Bounty Hunter. Same parent company but that's all.

Yep. Different everything. A Dave Johnson design from top to bottom. F75, F70, T2 a whole different ball game from Bounty Hunter and Fratbros detectors.

Whenever I encounter many coins from a spill the VDI seems to bounce all around, even though it's mostly pennies, it will bounce around as nickels and dimes. Sometimes even quarters. Is this normal?

Yes...very normal. I found a few spills with my LRP and the numbers will jump as the detector just cannot choose a single target out of so many so close. So it gets bouncy trying to decide what is what in the hole.

Even a coin or ring on edge will cause it to jump around a bit.
