Hello again TreasureNet!
I don’t know which detector to get and these are my final choices
I hunt for coins and jewelry 90 percent of the time.
I hunt in the parks, woods, farm fields, and some beaches
Overall which detector is better?
And please don’t say Equinox, I can’t afford it

I can get the Explorer II with the 11” pro coil for $420
I can’t get the Xterra 705 with stock coil for $410

100% The Explorer all the way. it is a very great machine and you will not be disappointed. It took a few months to get the hang of but after that it was on.

I used an Exp II for ten years. Had the Sunray X-1, X-5, stock coil, procoil, 15" WOT as my accessories for it. I absolutely loved this detector and learned it's language. I'd still use it today if it hadn't been stolen. (Along with everything else). That was two years ago and I think about it all the time. The tones it gives you are amazing. Work it slow...coil on the ground or as close as possible. I ran all metal all the time, ferrous tones, variability max, slightest hum for threshold volume.
I miss it... haven't had another detector since. I lost well over $2000 worth of detecting equipment two years ago and I guarantee the thief didn't know or care that it was much more than metal detector...it was my escape from from stress, and more like a electronic friend that I invested years of my time getting to know. If you get the Explorer...get to know it. You will be happily rewarded in more ways than one.

I was just worried if a old explorer would be better than a newer metal detector like the xterra 705
