MDing a house site in Va that was built in early 1800. Found a few modern coins but also dug this button. Not familiar with buttons and was wondering if this is actually an older button? Thanks for any guesses or info you may have on it. The button is 1" in dia. Using a GTA1000 to MD.

Hi SMS; Yours is a 1 Piece Button hence it older than 1820. I put it about 1800. It is Silver. The design is called the Wreath Pattern. It is a take off of the Constellatio Pattern of the Rev War ok. It is in XF ( Extra Fine) Condition with Full Shank. Value: Because it is Silver: $50 - $75. Nice Find. Enjoy. PEACE:RONB
