I dug this near a river several inches below grade where Texas and Mexican forces crossed or camped. There are no marks front or back. I would call it a two piece button since the front is pressed over and crimped to the back. The shank seems not to be soldered to the back. There was not much tarnish except on the back, the front has an almost polished look. Cleaned it only by rubbing. Any idea of age, thanks.

The front is metal and crimped on to the back. There are no markings on it front or back.
