Hi; Yours is a classic 1 Piece flat button, No shank. 1700's - 1820. Yours is pprobably 1780's ok. It is very toasted but if you want to clean it to check for any designs soak it in Lemon Juice for a few hours and then wipe it over. Keep repeating this step untill you obtain the desired effect ok. Hi; No wire brushes. Scratches the tar out of them. Lemon Juice will clean it and leave a nice Patina without all the scratches. THAT is the ideal way to go ok. PEACE:RONB
