Great story. It reminds me of Ted Binion ( the owner of the Horseshoe Casino) He purchased Confederate currency for pennies on the dollar. Pretty astute move. Good Luck.

when I was younger,my family worked in a commercial laundry...They did a LOT of coveralls and uniforms from all knids of businesses...Every now and then;they would find all kinds of paper money that had been washed in these clothes;and the money would be severely faded...they would take it to the bank,and when the bank sent it to the Federal Reserve and it was authenticated,they would send a check to the bank;and all the people that found the money at the laundry would split it up between them...I was in on that a couple of times... 8)now,THAT is the kind of "money laundering"I REALLY get into!!! 8)
