I've been researching a specific area but nothing to in-depth. The family and I went to a park in that area yesterday to cookout and fish. I do have a permit for the park but the area we were in no md is allowed. Well I couldn't help myself and pulled my fisher70 out. There's a huge tree with indentation in the ground which is what made me want to md LOL. My md was beeping like crazy, 50 cent in the upper 80's is what it was reading and about 2x2 feet. My hubby gave me heads up a ranger was coming and sure enough he drove around the hill. I tossed my md and shovel in the overgrown brush and acted cool LOL. This Parks about an hour away and even though md isn't permitted in that one area I'm itching to go back and check that spot out. The tree is about 3 yards from the road going through the park though. Any suggestions or maybe rational thinkers who'd like to talk me out of it.

I talked to a park ranger and apparently I CAN md in the area. They just don't want it torn up. I'll post my finds once I dig it. Today is a no go as the entire area is packed with people.

Watch it! It could be an electrical box. See if you can get any signals leading up to it. Could also be a water control box. Take it slow and easy digging. I would probe first with something with an insulated handle. These items are usually found near the road. Frank...

Thank you. I'll post pictures before digging. The signal is in-between two large roots and goes up against the tree.

I know, I'm itching to get up there but its about an hour drive. I need to go in the early am to avoid a mass amount of people just in case it turns out to be a good find.

I'll have to give this one to Frank! You were right on, it was a water control box ;)
