How good is the Garrett Treasure hound?

It's a good accessory to have for large caches. Do as much testing with it as you can, to learn what it can and what it can't do. It frequently won't pick up smaller coin caches, but if you're looking for a good-sized target the Treasure Hound can go very deep. It has the advantage of being able to detect in areas with lots of small trash and be able to ignore them, and the speed of searching is unmatched. It's also very important to keep it level and stay as smooth as possible with it, as any quick raise or lowering of it can cause a false reading.

Like I said -- take the time to practice with it -- that's the single most important thing you can do.
