    Mo. state seal button, any info

    found and listed yesterday in (what is it) a Mo state seal button with a backmark which sais (Craddock Kansas city Mo) if anyone has any info on this backmark I would really appreciate it. THANK YOU JYD

    The Craddock & Co. backmark dates from the late 1800's. Hubert M. Craddock was listed as a clothier at 195 James St., Kansas City, MO in 1889-90.

    The button was probably actually made by the Waterbury Button Co., whose back die lists from that period include one for "Craddock, Kansas City."
    Forgotten but not gone.
